Will you keep calling me to sell more services?
No. You pick one of three programs and that is the plan for the season. If we see a problem on your lawn we tell you, but there are no monthly sales calls.
When should I seed?
Late August to mid-October. After about October 15 there are not enough warm days left for roots to set. If a lawn is in rough shape we will seed in spring too.
My lawn is mostly shade. Is it worth it?
Usually, with the right seed and honest expectations. We will tell you which areas can carry grass and which would be better off as beds or ground cover.
How does payment work?
Your price is set by your lawn’s measured size and put in writing. Our monthly payment plan splits it into equal payments, up to ten, ending in November or December, interest-free with a credit card on auto-pay. Or prepay the season for 3% off. Refer a neighbor and earn a $50 credit.
Do I need to be home?
No. Your technician leaves a note or text after each visit with what was applied and any instructions. If a gate is locked or a dog is out, he’ll call the office and we’ll reschedule at no charge.
What about dogs and kids?
Keep everyone off the lawn until the application has dried, usually an hour or two; we leave a flag and a note. Dog spots and other bare patches are what Patch Rx is for, and it can be added to any program.
Which Yard Armour program do I need?
Seasonal is four services from spring through fall and covers most homes. Year-Round adds two tick services, around November and March, for households with dogs or kids in the yard all winter. Deer ticks are active any day above about 40°F.
Can I buy tick and mosquito control without a lawn program?
Yes. Yard Armour is available on its own. First-year lawn care customers also get a complimentary lawn tick application, applied with the summer service.
When does the first visit happen?
Usually within a week of your written price being approved, weather permitting. In spring, crabgrass pre-emergent has to go down before the soil warms, so we schedule those first.
Is your program organic?
Our standard programs use custom-blended fertilizer with targeted weed and grub control, applied by licensed technicians. If you want a natural-based program, ask; we’ll tell you honestly what it can and can’t do on your lawn.
